Extra Credit

This week I was watching commercials religiously and came across all of the Dove body wash or shampoo commercials. I realized all of them had the same concept. They would have a woman with very soft skin. The commercial portrayed her in a very delicate way as well. And the commcericals were always full of color and bright.

I came to the conclusion that this commerical is to portray woman as the sensitive type. They are the delicate creatures whereas men are the tough masculine ones. From this commerical it shows that women are the sensitive ones.

After much contemplation and thought I realized that writing this blog about the show on mtv called the Dual III. During this show there are different games and obstacles set up and guys compete against guys and girls against girls. In the end of the show there will be one guy and one girl left to win the ultimate prize at the end;money.

I chose to pick the Dual III because it depicts a very big gender role gap. I say this because men are always given the tougher challeges to partake in. Also the girls are always seen as the weaker ones out of the bunch and the guys will conquer all. The men on this show always want to show their strength by pciking fights and seeing who will come out victorious. This show just helps to show that women are always seen as inferior to men and they won't ever be stronger mentally or physically then men.
