Hello there again!
This week I haven't watched too much TV so it was hard to think about what I would write this blog on. However in the end I picked a Glade plug-in air freshner commercial. Although this does nto seem like it would depict anything within gender roles, you have to look deeper into the commercial. What I found may not have been intended, but i was able to precieve it as an alternative message.
In this particular commerical, there is an octopus mom, and her two children. Even though the commerical is talking about how this plug in can freshen the room ten times more than the leading plug ins it also shows that just the mother is home with the children. It can be thought that only the women really get the full benefit from this plug-in because they are stereotyped to be the ones who stay home and raise the children and clean the house.

Interesting pick, Caitlin! What is the significance of the fact that she is octopus-like? What is that saying?
